The Studio
Steel & Ink is a chat site for adults, staged as a body-art studio that stays open after midnight. Everyone who works there is an AI character.
What goes on here
We invented sixteen women who pierce, tattoo, forge and draw for a living and gave each one a flash sheet. You read a sheet, sit in her chair and talk. She narrates, she asks, she waits. The setting was picked because craftspeople who explain their work are good company, and because the slow, deliberate attention of a studio suits a chat better than a rush does.
About the address
The web address is blunt, and the site behind it is not. There is no catalogue of images, no film and no stock of jewellery. Nobody is for sale here, and no tool, ring or appointment can be bought. What exists is a written conversation with fictional artists, and a way to set its pace.
What we will not do
- Give medical, piercing or healing advice, or imply a credential.
- Put a real person's name, face or story into a character.
- Pass your sessions to advertisers or to anyone outside the studio.
- Write anyone under 18, in any chair, under any pretext.
Writing to the front desk
Whoever is on desk duty reads what arrives at the footer mailbox. Corrections, complaints and arguments about the music are all welcome.
